THE BEST BAKED MAC AND CHEESE

Ingredients:

  • 16 oz macaroni

  • 1 stick butter

  • 1/3 cup gf flour

  • 2.5 cups milk

  • 2 tsp salt

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tsp onion powder

  • 1 tsp mustard powder

  • 4 cups cheddar (I use mild)

  • 2 cups Gruyère (mozzarella would work too)

    Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 F.

  2. Cook pasta until al dente and set aside.

  3. I’m a Dutch oven or deep pan - melt stick of butter over low heat. Whisk in flour for about 1 min until dissolved. Slowly whisk in milk. Add mustard, onion and garlic powder. Stir in 3 cups cheddar and 1 cup Gruyère until melted. Add cooked noodles and stir to combine. Salt to taste (make sure we’ll seasoned!)

  4. Put mac and cheese into a rectangular baking dish (or large oval). Top with remaining cheeses and bake 20-25 mins uncovered and enjoy!
