4 BBQ TIPS FOR BEGINNERS

BBQing can be intimidating - here are a few top tips to help build your grilling confidence.

1. CLEAN YOUR GRILL

You can do this with half an onion or just a regular metal bristle brush.

2. PREVENT YOUR FOOD FROM STICKING

Rub half a potato in your hot grill, make sure your grill is nice and hot before you start and also take your meat or fish out of the fridge about an hour before cooking (cold meat on cold grill = sticking!)

3. AVOID YOUR FOOD FROM BURNING

Avoid sugary sauces or bbq sauce until the last 8-10 mins of bbq otherwise your meat or chicken will burn.

4. HOW TO KNOW WHEN YOUR FOOD IS DONE

High heat for things like burgers or steak where you want a nice sear and to cook for 5-6 mins a side. For things like chicken and turkey burgers I use a thermometer (you can look up cooking times and temps online to make sure it is cooked through!)
