SARDINIA TRAVEL TIPS
I just got back from a 2-week adventure in Sardinia and Corsica and I was completely blown away by the beaches, the food, the mountains and the sheer beauty! It's a truly magical place that is not to be missed. See below for all my recos if you plan to visit!
We flew into Olbia - Costa Smeralda/ Porto Cervo is where we visited along with the stunning Su Gologone but would also love to go back and visit Cagliari in the south! A car is a definite must - the roads are great and easy to drive (we rented from Sixt).
HOTEL
Cala Di Volpe - this is where we stayed, a beautiful property and amazing service
Su Gologone - THE most special hotel. Started as a restaurant and the daughter of the owners is an artist who turned it into a spectacular experiential hotel. If you can - stay in the artist's suite - it is magical!!
RESTARAUNTS
ITINERARY
Spent a day driving up to San Pantaleo (cute little medieval town with great little shops and restaurants) - from there we drove to Palau where we took a ferry to La Madalana (a must!). Had lunch at La Scogliera which was incedible. Tons of beautiful beaches there (cala corticcio, cala granara) - I would actually recommend going by boat (think it's easiest to see more beaches that way!)
DAY 1
San Pantaleo
La Madalana
Spent a day relaxing at the hotel / had access to their beach Matsuhisa (and had lunch there).
DAY 2
Drove down the coast - stopped in a medieval town called Posada (great views) and ended up in Su Gologone. Spent 2 days there (lots of things to do from hikes, to cooking classes, to horseback riding, to watching movies under the stars!) - don’t miss the boutiquie there!! We didn’t make it to the beaches by Su Gologone but if you can head to the Golfo of Orosei for a boat day and visit Cala Luna and The Pisine di Venere which are supposed to be spectacular natural pools.
DAY 3-5
Su Gologone
Posada
We drove back to the north and took the ferry from Santa Theresa to Bonafacio in Corsica ... Part 2 of this trip is coming soon!
Additional Small Towns in The North of Sardinia we didn’t get to!
Alghero
Stintino
Castelsardo
